THE IMPORTANCE OF THE SPORT

Hello everybody, today the post is not a motivational talk, but I hope that if you read this you will have the motivation to practise sport.

1-Improves health.
According to the World Health Organisation, 6% of deaths worldwide are due to lack of physical activity.
Exercising regularly helps prevent disease and control overweight and body fat percentage.
It also strengthens the bones, increasing bone density and improves the ability to make efforts without fatigue.As if that were not enough, it promotes the maturation of the motor nervous system and increases motor skills.

2-Healthy mind in healthy body.
In a psychological way, it improves mood and reduces levels of stress, anxiety and depression. It makes us feel good emotionally, because when we exercise we book endorphins (hormones of happiness).

3-It gives us the opportunity to socialise soundly.
Experts say that children and adolescents who practice sports are less likely to fall into addictions such as drugs or alcohol and in the case of women, the chances of pregnancy at an early age are much lower.
Children who play sports can make friends focused on healthy, safe and enjoyable activities.The same happens with adults, who have the possibility of developing friendships around an active lifestyle.

4-It facilitates success in the academic field.
Researchers from the Autonomous University of Madrid suggest that when training muscle strength and motor skills, students who practice sports tend to obtain better results in school and obtain higher scores on standardised tests.

5-It is a tool to develop the character.
Sports also promote values and help to build character, since they promote honesty, teamwork and fair play, as well as respect for teammates and opponents. The experience of being a winner or loser teaches us to be humble and to tolerate frustration. Competition in general strengthens self-esteem, confidence and stress management. Finally, assuming some important role within the team also contributes to the development of leadership skills.

6-It helps eradicate social problems and unites people.
By promoting respect and teamwork, practising some sports discipline has proven to be a powerful tool, capable of combating some of society's problems such as racism, sexism and other forms of prejudice.Thanks to him it is possible to unite people with different origins and beliefs in a basketball court, a football field or an athletics track, who by playing together in a safe and welcoming environment can overcome conflicts between them. At that moment, they are all partners working for the common good.
